The Answer Exchange — Improving processes. Providing Answers.

About The Answer Exchange

Experience that connects the process to the people.

More than 20 years working with federal IT organizations—and a practical understanding of how contracts, finances, technology, and daily operations intersect.

Led by Eric Foust.

Financial management.
Operations.
Workable solutions.

Eric’s experience includes consulting and subcontractor roles supporting federal IT organizations and prime contractors, spanning acquisition and contracting, financial management, application development, operations, and reporting.

The Answer Exchange draws on that experience to assess how organizations work, understand the reasons behind existing processes, and develop improvements that fit the people and systems involved.

Engagements are designed around a defined problem, useful deliverables, and a realistic path to action.

How we approach your organization.

Listen to both perspectives

Leadership defines priorities and desired outcomes. Staff explain the day-to-day work, workarounds, and obstacles.

Understand the requirements

Examine policies, contract requirements, and the purpose behind key steps before recommending changes.

Design for adoption

Build recommendations around existing tools, clear ownership, organizational culture, and available capacity.

Experience in action.

Turning a manual funding approval process into a visible workflow.

In prior federal agency work, a process for requesting operational funding above the baseline budget relied on forms and email. A tool built with the existing technology stack tracked requests and made spending visible by area.

The work reduced processing time from weeks to days and gave leadership real-time visibility into operational spending.

This describes a prior engagement. Results depend on each client’s process, requirements, and implementation.

Start with the problem you want to solve.

Tell us where work slows down, what leadership cannot see, or which process needs attention. We’ll discuss a practical starting point and agree on the scope.
